Maggie has just switched from law school to work in a bookstore. Life goes on as usual, but suddenly she falls madly in love with Kim, a street artist. Unexpectedly, Maggie's mother, who no longer believes in personal happiness after her divorce from her husband, comes to visit them. Soon she meets the girls' friend, transgender Judy, who helps her rediscover herself. Maggie has to hide her feelings for Kim from her mother.
