On Christmas Eve, a group of terrorists take over an international airport and now hold thousands of travelers hostage. The terrorists are a renegade gang of top-notch armed commandos led by a brutality-obsessed officer. Their goal is to rescue a drug lord.

The gang is prepared for all sorts of accidents, except for one: an encounter with John McClane. Bruce Willis returns as the superhero cop who battles not only the terrorists, but also the incompetent airport police chief, the dumbass chief of the anti-terrorist unit and the dreaded blizzard.

The hostages are frantic, deathly frightened and confused. And John McClain is fighting a battle with time, too. His wife is in one of the planes circling the airport. And the fuel is running low...
