I just finished watching this on blu-ray. The experience was amazing, seriously. As far as visuals, its by far the best movie I ever saw. It beats Avatar as far as graphics, and the storyline is 50x times better then avatar. I recommend it to anyone who likes movies with nice visuals effects, this is the best EVER.

This is one of the best movies I have every seen! Heck, I would even get some of their toys! roumanobr is right, this movie does beat Avatar down in every way! Great Movie, Great Story, Great Effects!

SciFly321 03.07.2021

Not too bad for a Disney movie. it plays the same premise as the original. The special effects and digital cinematography are entertaining enough to keep this film going. Plus, Olivia Wild is always nice to look at.

Isaac Carmichael 03.07.2021

The film is bloated, not bad, but bloated. I felt that Blomkamp was trying too hard to duplicate the success of District 9 (which shows in the overall message of the plot). Neill Blomkamp is a one-hit wonder (so-far) in that he peaked with his feature film debut. It's preachy, but not as preachy as some other films I have seen recently (looking at you Lee Daniels). Overall, 7/10.

Alexander Forbes 03.07.2021

I really like it, mostly because of the visual style, it's all so realized and unified and looks so cool and realistic. It's not like most stuff where everything just glows and has wires everywhere, it looks realistic and like it could actually work and it all makes sense.

Limo 03.07.2021

It seems that people prefer District 9 or Elysium meanwhile a small majority of us enjoy both for what they are. District 9 is a futuristic action/drama with more character development and the idea of character growth and acceptance of two different species pulling from the idea of Apartheid.

Elysium was in the same genre as District 9 but it tries to tell a different story of social class and how the rich see the poor and the gap between it needing to be bridged. I enjoy them both for what they are and never thought I'd see another good action movie with

Maaat Daaaaamon (sorry) in it. Also, Sharlto Copely, you will win an Oscar one day without a doubt.

The fight scene flashback on the moon was so freaking epic! This movie has some much more depth than meets the eye because it's based on a manga. There's so much potential for sequels and prequels in the future.

Lillian Luke 03.07.2021

Watching this in the cinema was nothing short of magical. I wish if I can go back and experience it all over again. It's so sad that this movie is SO UNDERRATED!

DDGS 03.07.2021

I was not expecting anything before I watched the movie. Now, I'm in love with Alita and am already begging for a sequel.

This 'Let's make an entire trailer dialogue out of tired old cliches' -strategy didn't do any favors for Solo and it isn't working any better here. You have an awesome premise with mobile cities hunting each other. Somehow your marketing team managed to turn that into something seemingly tiresome and old in 2 minutes 30 seconds flat.

ANGIE VASQUEZ 03.07.2021

Freaking out because apparently the male protagonist of this movie is Klaus Hargreeves in Umbrella Academy and OMG HOW DID I NOT NOTICE?!?!?

Roy Bodin 03.07.2021

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie from start to end. The special effects and the art are jaw dropping. I think it deserves a lot more credit.

War of the Worlds (2005) poster

9 War of the Worlds (2005) ★ 6.5

No one would have believed at the beginning of the 21st century that beings more advanced than man were keeping a watchful eye on everything that was going on on Earth; that while people were going about their business, they were being investigated and studied.

With endless complacency, men went to and fro all over the globe, busy with their own affairs, confident in their power over matter. Meanwhile, across the abyss of space, beings with a highly developed, cold, emotionless intellect were looking at the Earth with eyes full of envy, and slowly but surely were working out their plans, hostile to us...

The Comedy Bros 03.07.2021

I personally think this movie was great. It made you think, and it was one of those you have to watch from the beginning to understand the ending. Lots of plot twists, solid acting, nice script, outstanding visuals, and beautiful music. The ONLY thing that could have been better is if they trimmed off a lot of the landscaping shots (about 15 minutes or so) and focused more on the action. Because once the final 15 minutes came up, YES!

Hannes Grand Cherokee 03.07.2021

I love this movie extremely much! I'm very critical when it comes to sci-fi, but this omg is more than sci-fi. It has a remarkable story that really pleases your mind. 10/10 every day.

Executnr 03.07.2021

Just watched it, great movie, very underrated, good story had me guessing till the end. And no this trailer is not a spoiler. The numbers on their suits are important. it doesn't really leave room for a sequel, but i would love to see a sequel just to watch the advancement of the story, but i'm cool with the ending as well. I just wish freeman character didnt happen like that, it was a good character badass.

Kraugel 03.07.2021

Beautiful movie. Just beautiful. I never watched it before because of the book readers around me telling me its bad. Well now that I've watched it, it's actually perfectly done. I hated myself for listening to those idiots. I've read the whole series myself including the prequels and I think the movie series is actually better. The music is just like an arrow that pierces through any mind and give you the sense of the feelings the characters are experiencing. The actors are amazing. They perfectly executed the characters in the book. The movie beat is just awesome. It's just perfectly synchronized compared in the books. Hats off to the directors. This is the best movie in the series. For those who have been told that the movie is bad, just don't listen to those people. I've learned something from watching book adaption movies. It's always not gonna be the same so don't expect the same thing or it's just going to disappoint you. Instead, clear your mind of any speculations you have of the movie and just think like you're reading a new book with a new and better story in it. Trust me, it works and you're going to enjoy the film much better

Avatar was a masterpiece. Watching it gave me an experience so surreal it takes you to pandora. Beautiful world, respect for the nature, emotional, strong message... Everything about it... I loved. I doubt avatar 2 can surpass this piece of art.

Pranata Ghosh 03.07.2021

James Cameron is a great visualiser and a great director with deep set concepts .Truly a legendary director got to praise him for titanic and avatar ......

Adam Olds 03.07.2021

Watched Avatar again recently. It still looks and feels like the future of film.

I'd be happy if they didn't make another one and let it stand alone as a benchmark in film. Besides, it's been a long time now since it's release. Expectations change, along with the world of cinema. I'm not sure it would be a success on the level of the first film, unless James Cameron has another masterstroke of technological genius tucked away for it...

As for losing its place at the top of the gross charts, that's not exactly worth mentioning these days. Endgame is the culmination of over 20 stories, over more than 10 years, with a dedicated fanbase that will probably have watched it several times each. Quite good business by Disney, but nothing more than that.

And besides, when adjusted for inflation, it's still a long way off Avatar, and a very long way off Gone With The Wind. Although the Marvel lot won't acknowledge that, they're a sensitive bunch...
