The story is based on a book by Rosalind Wiseman, which is popular in the States, which is not really fiction. The narrative centers on a sixteen-year-old girl named Cady Hiron, who has lived in Africa for the past twelve years, being homeschooled.
After her family moves to the United States, she has to adapt in a regular school with its own laws. In other words, Cady has come from the real jungle to a much more dangerous world. Gradually entering the life of American teenagers, the girl gets to know the local outcasts, with whom she develops a friendship. At the same time, Cady becomes close to a trio of girls who call themselves "The Bounty. While the new girl has not yet decided with whom to be friends and with whom not, an old conflict escalates between the outcasts and the Bounty, which escalates into a real school war.
